MORPHOSIS
MORPHOSIS is a creative event that focuses on the exploration and celebration of body art, but it also consists of more than that. During the day, MORPHOSIS featured a variety of talented tattoo artists and piercers, along with several other vendors, allowing attendees to explore and discover these art forms. In the night itself, a beautiful metamorphosis between body art and music was born in the form of synchronization between live tattoo and piercing performance.

Morphosis, a term defined as 1. the mode of development of an organism or one of its parts, and 2. a nonadaptive structural modification, serves as a symbol of our evolving perspective on human body modification and body art over time.
Originally, tattoo represented a method of punishment in ancient China, inflicting pain, suffering, and humiliation on prisoners to atone for their crimes, with these physical marks lasting a lifetime. Though it has since transformed into a form of art, self-expression, and a means to imbue our skin with enduring meanings and stories throughout our lives to more and more people, yet it still is not universally viewed in a positive light in current days. Here, we explore and study the contrast between two greatly different ends of the spectrum in terms of perspectives people can have toward the same topic, which is body art.
